Happy 10th birthday Theta Lambda!

Just wanted to say happy birthday to an amazing Delta Tau Delta chapter, Theta Lambda at UC Riverside! Today is their 10th birthday at UCR! The fraternity started with 47 men in 1993, had some trouble with numbers during the late nineties, but is now up to 69 members, making them the second-largest house at UCR! The fraternity's numbers have nearly tripled since 1999 (from approx. 25 members to almost 70!) and their morale on campus has increased incredibly! Theta Lambda has consistently held the highest GPA on campus, has a variety of members who are campus leaders, and has the most attended annual fraternity philanthropy, Delta Queen, which has raised over $10000 for the past two years! This past year, as some of you may know, Theta Lambda won your fraternity's prestigious Hugh Shields award as well... I can't think of a fraternity that deserves more.

As some of you may have noticed in my past posts, I have a tremendous respect for this chapter, and Delta Tau Delta in general. I love the members I have met, the friends I have made and the values that all member of Delta Tau Delta strive for. I only hope that if I ever have a son, he will become a member of this amazing fraternity (and I secretly hope that one day, I'll marry Matthew McConaughey, too). Congrats Theta Lambda.

Gphiangel,

Thanks so much for the kind words about our chapter and brothers.

It's the kind of thing that makes an old alum and former Division Officer really happy.

I can tell you as a former advisor of a Hugh Shields chapter, that if they won that award, they really are something special.

Thanks again,

As a Founding Father of Theta Lambda Chapter, I would like to say I am proud of how well the chapter has done. Despite our low numbers for a couple of years, I believe that the men we recuited were solid and developed the chapter into what it is now.

Great job.
