Does your State have any odd holiday traditions?

Well does it?

Every Christmas morning in New York, our local television channel presents to us the traditional Yule Log. It's just a picture of a burning yule log that's on the television screen for what seems like an eternity. The log is accompanied by a wack, Bing Crosby-like Christmas soundtrack and nothing else. For hours on end ( for those of us who can't afford a real fireplace I guess)... the log burns, commercial free.
The log, which originally burned in Gracie Mansion (where NYC mayors live) is brought to us live via CALIFORNIA
