Question for the guys out there........girls chime in too
What does it say about a girl if she asks out a guy? Do yall like that, or would you prefer to ask a girl out?
I have a crush and I asked him to go to this concert with me, and he said yes..............so far so good???????????

My guy friends used to always tell me that most guys actually like it when girls ask them out first, because it takes the pressure off of them to make the first move.
I don't know if it applies for ALL guys out there, but I'm pretty sure at least some of them like it
I would definitely think that in your situation, him agreeing to go to the concert is a good thing!!!
Best of luck!

Having a girl ask you out is chill, lets you know that the girl is really interested and it does wonders for the self-esteem

I am perfectly fine with it, i used to work with an ex and when we broke up i ran into her at the bars and she asked me out, and then she asked why i hadnt asked her out at work.
As for my current girlfriend she is a reglar at the bar i work and when she heard i broke up with my ex she came up to me and said she wanted to be with me for like 3 months but i had a girlfriend and said when she heard i didnt have one she was not going to miss her chance to be with me. I was very very flattered since she is a stunning, beautiful girl who is graduating next dec with honors in her double major, and we have been together for 4 months

I told my now boyfriend (then biology lab partner) that if he asked me to coffee, I wouldn't say no... He asked me to coffee, I didn't say no, and we've been dating for 9 1/2 months - sometimes it just take a little nudge. And if your crush said yes to the concert, that's a good sign!

I would only ask a guy out if it were as friends...something casual..or a date party or formal. I guess I am a little bit of an old fashioned southern girl. I would have to know that if I were to ask them anywhere that they know it's only as friends.

LADIES PAY ATTENTION!!!
Guys like you to ask them. Even if they aren't particulalry interested when you ask, you will probably get a date and then you can work your charms.
I've been asked to go do stuff with girls on probably 5-8 occassions, and said yes everytime but one. The one was b/c it was a concert and I had a soccer practice I had to coach. Unfortunetly she never asked me out again...

I would agree.
Some guys don't like it if you do it too often though (TRUST ME). Now that you made the first move, wait for him to ask you on the second date........
For me, I just got too old to wait around for them to make up their minds.........

But does this work when you're intimidated to ask them and then you stutter and stammer your way through asking the guy out? Would he still be inclined to go on a date with someone they're not *particularly interested* in or does the girl need to be confident in herself and what she has to offer to the guy she's goes on a date with?

That's exactly it....it's flattering and they "like the attention"....i mean, what's not to like? He just got a date without having to actually put in any effort...so initially he'll probably think it's cool...and let's face it, even if he doesn't like you if you aren't half bad he's going! He's a GUY!!!!...
But IMO there is a downside though. And it's that the girl is likely to think his acceptance of the date means he likes her (because that's usually why GIRLS accept dates)...when, in reality, "if" he likes you, it really wasn't enough initially for him to pursue YOU...
Of course, there are always exceptions...but, as my mom always said "if he likes you, he'll call".

In my opinion, the girl would know exactly how the guy might feel when he's the one asking a girl out. I have to be in the mood to ask a guy out. Sure I've been turned down a few times...at least I know whether or not anything could work. But there have been times when a guy has said yes and I'm glad to have done so.

That's how I think of it.
If a guy isn't into me enough to be a little assertive in the beginning, then I usually don't waste my time. I will flirt till the cows come home, but I wouldn't ask a guy out unless we were already going on dates.
I'm sure some guys like being asked out, because it requires little/no effort on their part and they know right off the bat that the girl is interested and willing.
In the beginning of a relationship I'd rather he see me as someone to be pursued, someone a little mysterious, rather than as someone who's chasing after him.
This seems to be working for me, and I spare myself the drama and disappointment of trying to force relationships with guys who don't have a strong interest in dating me. And in the relationships I've observed among my friends, it rarely works out when the girl is chasing after an initially less-interested guy.

I've turned down every single girls that ever asked me out. However, I did it nicely and was flattered by the attention.
And had I liked the girl I would have gone.
