Who pays?
I was wondering something... if you are a member of the VST or a PD or anything else IHQ related... who picks up the tab for flying to meetings or staying at hotels?
Just wondering

It depends on the purpose of the trip. If we travel to a chapter, the chapter pays for room/board and IHQ pays for the travel. For training of VST, it's paid by IHQ but often in the form of a grant from the Foundation. It's fairly complex but to get reimbursed for anything the visit has to be approved in advance, reports have to be completed afterward and you have to have receipts for everything.

When our PD visited she told us that her gas was reimbursed. The chapter could not afford a hotel room but a member that lived off campus (our house only houses 3 people) volunteered her apartment.

We prefer to stay in the chapter house (if there is one) or with a sister.
I meant to add, we can also choose, on our expense statement, to contribute the money directly to the Fraternity or to the Foundation rather than be reimbursed. Sometimes it's a fairly painless way to make a contribution as you've put out the money already and you're not missing it by the time you send in your expense report! If, over the course of the year, you average $20 a month in phone calls and postage, you don't miss it as you pay it out, but it adds up for the Foundation.

Volunteer Service Team members serve the entire Fraternity and are appointed biannually. VST members serve on either the AST,Alumnae Service Team or the CST,Collegiate Service Team.

For Convention, we pay most of our own expenses. We do get a stipend (for Atlanta it was $200) to cover some of the cost. In exchange for that, we go a day early, have Area and Province meetings with our chapters, help with credentials and secret work for collegiate delegates and any other duties as assigned.
