I write this to express my deepest faith in a program that needs to be recognized and help from GC'ers like you to spread the word.
This past weekend, I went to Future's Quest. A program put on by the NIC geared towards educating and enlightening newer members of their potential and obstacles they will face being Greek. The 3-day Institute is geared only towards Fraternity men, but not by choice but the difference the Institute makes is ever lasting.
As I watched these young Fraternity men step foot onto the Camp site, they all wore their cool caps and had many biases and prejudices towards other Organizations. However, one Institute called Future's Quest brought 90 men together acting as one Organization it seemed.
The program views such topics as values, who we are as leaders, and how we will overcome the obstacles we face. It challenges you to different perspectives and asks if you are truly the one to be "the only one standing" when faced with a choice when the only one that is behind you, is your shadow.
It is a program unlike any other and with the Greek Community all across the Nation trying to grow and become prosperious, it is conferences like Future's Quest that will pave the way.
I am so confident in this program and hope you will at least read about it or check it out. Maybe some of you went or may want to go. The only problem facing the Institute is publicity and money. Each year, members of the NIC must fight to keep the program but if you were to see the impact it truly makes, you would want to spend every dollar you had to keep it up and running. I know I do. However, we as a National Greek Community need to spread the word and raise money for our newer members to go.
I hope you will take this message to heart and look at your newer members and ask if they would benefit from a program like this. For those that have been to UIFI, it is designed somewhat similar but again, geared towards nearer members that are destined to be leaders in your respective Chapters and destined to go to UIFI.
Sorry for this being so long but I know that you are just as passionate about Greek Life as I am and this program really got my Greek flame burning high!! So check out Future's Quest and start spreading the word. It will make a lasting difference that will change your newer members for life!
