Roger Clemens sign with Astros

I thought he was retiring. I guess he is pushing his retirement one more day.

Andy Pettitte must have done some serious sweet talking to get Roger out of Retirement.

As a 'Stros fan i'm salivating at a starting rotation of Clemens, Petitte, Oswalt and Miller. Especially with a killer closer like Octavio Dotel.

I'm just hoping that homer-friendly Enron/Astros/Minute Maid won't have too adverse of an effect on him. Now if Berkman can play like he did 2 years ago, and Hidalgo can produce like last year, we may have enough gas to finish out the season in the Central.

I wish Billy Wagner was still a member of the Astros. wouldn't that be something? Between Him and Dotel, the Bullpen would be rank as best in the N.L.

Probably. But remember, RC is a big Texan and it works great for him to pitch in his home state with a team that's competitive, unlike the Texas Rangers.

*Hijack* I'm surprised that Vladimir Guerrero signed out here with the Anaheim Angels.*end hijack*

Yeah, i agree.

But i don't think the drop off will be in the closer, the 'Stros need to find a decent setup man now. Maybe Lidge can step into the role.

I'm surprised by that as well. Vladimir should give them a big boost with his bat.
