Lavaliering Question

My boyfriend is in Iraq and he recently gave me a set of dog tags for Christmas. I've heard that, as far as military traditions go, this is akin to lavaliering in sororities. Technically, he could have lavaliered me since he is a Theta Chi, but his chapter has closed and now obviously he's active military. Do you think I could have a candlelight for this after school starts back up again? I'm sure my sisters would be ok with this, especially since so many of them date guys in the military, but I wanted to get some feedback from some other Zetas out there and maybe even see if this had ever been done before or heard of. Thanks!

I think that's a great idea! My now husband was in the military when we were dating. I wish I had thought of something like this!

Hi!

I, too, think it's a great idea... When I briefly affilated with another chapter a couple of years ago, they refused to let me have a candlelight when I became engaged because we chose to use the money toward the purchase of our house and did not have a RING to show to everyone... (No joke...)

So, I think it really depends on the chapter you belong to. As a military step-daughter, I think it's awesome.

Red face Oops

Well, as it turns out, my mom got a little too excited and he didn't mean it quite like that. Oh, well. He told me that he basically meant, I miss you a lot and hold onto these until I get back. It's all good though. I still have untill May (when I graduate) right?
