Angela Bassett and J Anthony Brown appear in the film. It opens Sept. 17th.

Aging baseball star who goes by the nickname, Mr. 3000, finds out many years after retirement that he didn't quite reach 3,000 hits. Now at age 47 he's back to try and reach that goal

I rarely go to movies (having the full HBO-Cinemax-Showtime-TMC digital cable package will do that to you), but I may want to see this.

As an aside, it's also interesting that Bernie Mac would do a baseball comedy, considering that baseball has lost a ton of interest among AfAms within the last 15 years or so. More kids want to be like Allen Iverson and BronBron James rather than, say, C.C. Sabathia

or Dontrelle Willis.

I saw the film this weekend. I don't know if you'd want to take a child to see this. As usual, Bernie is kinda raw.

I ACTUALLY enjoyed (still reeling from shock) this movie.

Depending on the age of your child, you may not want to take them to see this(15+ yr. olds, ok).

AKA2D---was it just me or did it seem like the young "star" of the team was ROCKING a lot of Fashion Fair foundation?

I onnn't neeeeeeven know about "fine" but "Mr. EA" Sports was looking REAL PRETTY. Every time they would flash his picture up on the scoreboard I would think "err...uh...ummmm...is he wearing MAC NC41?"

Now Dondre T. Whitfield I would straight sop up with a big a** biscuit!!! Lawd I've been loving him since his Cosby Show "Robert" days.

Note to Bernie Mac: You MIGHT wanna invest in a girdle the next time you play an athelete in a movie.

Yep, his 6-pak was looking quite...uh, shall I say (trying to be delicate) "keg-ish?" LOL

And I was loving me some Boca? All that VELOUR!!

I felt kinda bad for Angela though...will she now have to take those "Sanaa Lathan/Nia Long" type roles(i.e. girlfriend/woman in distress/movie decoration)?
