Question At Risk Children

I posted this on the interim board, but I'll hopefully get some help over here:
I've just been offered a job with a company as a rotating child care worker in level 3 (SEVERE!!!) group homes for kids aged 5-12. I've been letting the idea roll around in my head for a while and have yet to decide if I'm actually going to take the job or not. I've never worked with kids like these before but I know that I'll be working with children who have severe emotional, pyschological, and behavioral problems. There will be restraint involved in case one of those little fluckers tries to get physical but I do understand that a lot of these children are products of their environments. I do want to work with children when I graduate so this is a good way to get my foot in the door however I'm not gonna go crazy over some bad a$$ kids. Has anyone ever worked with this population before? Advice?
Help!!
