Question Appropriate or no?

I was watching a TV show the other day, and there were members of a BGLO in the audience. When the show would be about to go to a commercial, or coming back from a break, they would do their call and throw up their hand sign. When asked what they were doing, they explained that it was for Blah Blah Blah Org, Inc.

Do you think that this was appropriate or inappropriate? Would you represent like that in a live TV audience?

I would most def. NOT! I don't think a live TV audience is the place, since the meaning and history behind signs and calls is a bit more involved to explain properly than the few seconds they give the host to "banter" with the audience.

Talking

This may be just a rumor, b/c I got this info from a friend.

There was an Alpha Phi Alpha brother wearing his APA sweatshirt on "The Price is Right". He got out of Contestants Row and got on stage to play "Money Game", the game where you have to call out the first two and last two digits of the car. Well, he got the first two digits and among the last two digits was, well, you guessed it, 06. Some of his frat bruhs were in the audience doing their call in reference to the "06", which silenced the audience briefly, and then got everyone laughing. Bob Barker asked him if he knew those brothers, and he said that they were his brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Well, he picked the '06, which Bob referred to as "Old El Cheapo", and old dude got the car. Quite a scene, from what I can gather.

My friend said this was from an early '90s ep of TPIR he saw on Game Show Network.

Thought yall might like to know that.

hey ideal08...

very interesting topic

sitting in a live audience and want to represent what BGLO your a member of is cool.... but then there is a time and place for everything. perhaps i would represent on BET 106 and park or good morning america or nbc live but not the jerry springer show or one of those cheesy talk shows.

it's kinda of like neo enthusiam (sp) when you wear para so much or buy just about anything that have your greek letters on it.
