Red Bull works better. It has the caffine of coffee and some stuff to speed up your metabolism and get your brain juices flowing.
I thought their claims were BS until I tried it and if I think I'm going to have to do an all nighter, I make sure I have a couple of those.
Just my $.02

It's all about the taurine....there is no caffeine in it, but taurine is similar to caffeine, if not better. Also, go for the sugarfree variety. It only has ten calories and works just as well as regular! You can also try diet rockstar, diet hansens energy drink, and there are a few natural ones with ginseng. Yes, I am a certified red bull/any product with taurine in it ADDICT!!!!
I tried it freshman year and wanted to puke, but sophomore year I tried it again and lets just say I'm in love with it!!! WAYY better than caffeine.
BUT....one warning. If you've had like three cups of coffee and then you start on the red bull, you may feel really sick because it kind of speeds you up. So space it out!!!

Actually I have not been to sleep since I wrote that post this morning right after I woke up!
I have about 3-4-5 hours of reading... oh well, I don't think I'm going to do it. Sleep is good.
And I don't like the taste of Red Bull.

Towards the end of my freshman year in college, I pulled an all nighter working on my research paper. I turned it in on time and managed to stay awake throughout the day. I also went to my school's spring semi-formal. When I got back to my dorm room, I was out cold. Don't ask me how I did it, I just did.

I've pulled several all-nighters. I've learned that I can go about 40 hours without sleep before I become completely incoherant. Anything after that, and there's just no point in staying up.

I think I am immune to caffeine. If I'm super tired, I'll fall asleep no matter how many cups of coffee I drank. I haven't yet pulled a complete all nighter before. Right now I'm trying to finish a critical essay paper (damn theorists!!) and then I have to study for a final. Luckily they're both later in the afternoon but still. Anyone ever try those Vivarin pills?

Per there website Red Bull's ingedients are:
carbonated water
sugar (sucrose, glucose) 27 g
taurine 1000 mg
glucuronolactone 600 mg
caffeine 80 mg
vitamins
The caffeine amount is equal to one cup of coffee.

I slept 3.5 hours last night, and I took a nap this evening. I'm just beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Here's a PSA, kids: Go to grad school only if you like being around neurotic people who think they know everything.
