How long Do you Wait?

I don't think we have talked about this before, but if we did excuse me. How long do you wait before introducing your new boyfriend or girlfriend to your family?
I have talked to some people who wait for months and they know it's a sure thing before letting any family members meet their significant other. Some let at least one family member see their new lovefor safety's sake just in case something goes wrong they at least can put a face to the last person they was with. What do you do?

I wait until I know that it's going to be a serious relationship. The main reason is that my mother has a wonderful memory. If I introduced every one of my boyfriends to her, I'd have to hear about them long after we've broken up.

Every time someone mentions a man, my mother would start in on "Whatever happened to Joe Schmoe? I liked him. Why'd you two break up? I thought he was a nice man. You know, if you always leave a good man, you ain't never gon' get married."

So, I don't bring a man around my family unless I know he's gonna be around long enough. My current boyfriend didn't meet my family until about five or six months of us being committed.
