Unhappy Sad News........

I just found out that on Nov 1st, a younger brother of a girl I went to elementary school with was killed in combat in Iraq.

I wasn't close to them and hadn't seen her in about 20 years, but it still has a way of hitting home.

Unhappy

That is horrible news to hear. I've been praying and will continue to for all of the families who have lost loved ones through the war.

I do understand what you mean, though, about it hitting close to home. Living in a big navy city, you can't watch the news too long before you hear bad news about someone who you went to school with, grew up with, etc.

Yep, I hear you. All of the Naval homecomings (USS Abraham Lincoln, Carl Vinson and I forget the others) are broadcast live up here.
