Summer Pkans
I was just wondering what everyone's summer plans are. My boyfriend and I have a few things we want to do.
1. Go to Disney - it's only 45 minutes away and I haven't been in 8 years.
2. Go to Key West - he's never been and it would be a nice road trip.
So what does everyone have planned/trying to plan?

My plans so far: working.
I'm trying to plan a cruise with a few of my friends for sometime in July. That should be fun!

My school year ends June 25. I'll be taking an afternoon and early evening class for grad school in July, only one day a week thanfully! I hope to find a temp job in an office for July as well on the 4 days I don't have class, preferrably with no small children involved I'm also moving from Queens to Manhattan at the end of June so I hope to be spending my free time after the move making the place a cool hip spot. I have August off for the most part and hope to hang down in Florida @ my parents or in Colorado with my cousin and her husband. My sisters turn 16 and 13 in mid-August and I hope to be there for whatever lil party the fam plans.

I am so excited about my travel plans this summer! May 19th is my birthday and the day that i will be flying to London!!!!!!
From there, me and my best friend, will travel through Europe for 23 days. We thought about doing study abroad with school, but it was too limiting (plus you had to do school stuff, ick!). We are going with Contiki. They have all kinds of international trips for people 18-35 years old.
We end up in the greek isles for the last three days. Not a shabby ending is it?

Well, I plan on finally having Max. My due date is June 10th, so keep me in your thoughts.
After that, I just plan on taking the summer off learning to be a great mom for the little man.

Tippie - I'm sure all of us will be thinking about you this summer. You'll have to post pics of the little guy sometime.

Where in Europe are you traveling?
My father & I start out on the 26th of May. We're doing Pompeii, Capri, Vatican City/Rome, Florence, Cinque Terre, Grimmelwald/Murren, Munich, Brno, Vienna & Budapest. Actually he's leaving after Munich & I'm either going to go it alone, or a mate of mine may meet me up there for the rest.
I'm so excited for this. Next Thursday a good friend of mine & I are flying to Brindisi to take a ferry to Corfu to stay in the Pink Palace for a few nights. Then the following thursday me & two colleagues of mine are going to Bilbao, Spain for 3 days. A week after that is when my father & I head off, then I'm back in the states. It's going to be weird. I really feel like this is my new home. It's like college where you feel like you no longer live where your parents do....you're really living in this other place....it really is your home. I don't feel like I'm on vacation anymore. I actually live in a foreign country...not too foreign though.

I've been looking into taking a Contiki tour for awhile. I've heard excellent things about it from friends who have toured with them! I was going to take one of the month long tours last summer where you start in London and go through Western and Eastern Europe down through the Greek Isles and back to London (while stopping in Spain and Egypt along the way). Now that I work, I can't take a month off to do a fabolous tour like that. I'm still looking into the 14 day tour (European Discovery I think is the tour name). You don't get to go to as many countries but it still looks like a great tour.
Have a lot of fun on your tour! Let us know how it goes.

I lost my job in January so this summer I'll be staying home with my children, ages 9 & 7. I've got a lot of different things planned for them. They'll be going to school programs and sports camps. Plus I've got some home improvement projects for us to work on (re-doing my son's room) and a bunch of fun activities like zoos, museums, camping, swimming, hiking. They fight a lot so I'm a little worried about how well we'll do. I've been told that the amount of bickering they do is normal but to an only child like me, it seems like a lot.
I'm also working on a charity golf tournament for kids, www.kidswing.org, and will be flying to Denver as the official delegate for the Dallas Night chapter.

Your two little one's are the same span of ages as my little brother and I. I'm 24 and he's 21. It wasn't untilI got mono my senior year of high school that the two of us got along. We fought CONSTANTLY! I mean bloody nose, black eye fights. My mom is a single mom too so I know we were more than a handful. She worked.works 60+ hours a week so during the summer she always sent us on seperate YMCA camps and that usually kept us out of each others hair. Good luck!
