Post Jazz

I have been watching the PBS specials on Jazz by Ken Burns. I think it's a great expression of African American and American principles. I grow very proud to watch so many talented black people who aren't athletes or movie stars representing the Black culture as something to behold. If you haven't seen it, watch it! You may feel the same way

Before the series was even aired, there was and is criticism about it being a glossed over, watered down account of a music whose history runs long and deep. Could this criticism be coming because the creator of the series is white? (I'm not trying to play the race card but sometimes that's how it is) Has anyone else been keeping up with the series? How do you feel about it?

So far I've enjoyed the series. I have watched Ken Burns' other productions and think that he does a good job. If you didn't see it, the Negro League portion of the Baseball series was quite informative.

kitten03,

I haven't heard about this. I'm a jazz lover! What day and time does it air?
