Funniest 'AOE' meanings

Hi everyone,

I was just curious - has anyone here had a friend, new member, or any other person come up with a funny/silly meaning for 'aoe'? Did you come up with any silly ones while you were a new member?

AOE = Always Outstanding Excellence

True of Alpha Phi, but, of course, not the correct meaning of AOE!

I always thought All Orange Everything was funny. I'm sure it's not true, but it's pretty creative!

Here are some I've come across/thought of in my very brief time as a new member:

All Over Everywhere

Acrobatic Orangutan Experts

Amazing Outstanding Energy

Ants On Elephants

I'll try to come up with some others. I need something to keep me busy until I find out what it really means!

I have heard some funny ones but I feel that they would be rude to post here I am sure people know a few of them.

During Inspo week when we were new members we took a big white sheet and painted it with possible meanings. They were quite *creative* and we hung it in the entrance to the dining room of our chapter house.

I think it is normal for NM's to be curious about the meaning -- I just remind them that they get to find out a lot sooner than we used to!

Happy thinking -- you'll know soon!

I also know of a few that might not be appropriate for this board. We might be thinking of the same ones APhiAngel

It's so funny to hear the new members try to guess what it means. When I was a new member, I was so determined to guess, but once I knew what it meant, I laughed because there was no way I would have guessed correctly!

I think the funniest thing I heard is when a woman from _____ chapter of Alpha Phi came in wearing a hat from American Eagle Outfitters - it had AEO on it. She was all proud - look AEO just like we sign things!!! I was like that's great, only its AOE!!!!

Mine too! He can't understand why everything is so secret! He's asked me to show him our handshake a thousand times and my friends and I always make up silly fake ones to give him. He gets so frustrated! I told him he will never get it out of me and he is determined to trip me up. But, I'll NEVER tell!

Since the bage lists it aeo reading left to right we would tell our new member it meant active eat oranges when they would ask. The badge makes it misleading in what order is used.

sometimes i look at the badge and wonder if it was supposed to be aeo, cuz its so confusing looking. that would be bad if we had had it wrong all these years, hehe.
