Okie State #15 v. Oklahoma #1
This game has been a quandry for the Sooners for the past two seasons. How could by all accounts an inferior team like OSU come away with the W twice in a row? Oklahoma is mortal if it plays next Saturday like it did last Saturday. However, I don't think this will be the case. Stoops has very few losses to high ranked teams, this year, Okie State is #15 and definitely not to be overlooked. I don't think that Okie State is as good as Texas. If Oklahoma comes out as focused as they were against the whorns, look for something 65-13ish. If not? Who knows.
I'm not predicting the blowout here, but I'll be somewhat brave in my prediction: OU (that's Oklahoma) by 14.
Miami #2 v. Virginia Tech #11
VT has become the Kansas State of the East Coast. Decent running game, so-so passing game, inconsistant as hell. On a good day, VT will raise hell on the canes. On a bad day, look for 'ol Beamer to lay a drop kick on one of his players. I think VT will come out focused for this one -- at least better than they were against a very underrated West Virginia team. I think they expose Miami's fraud of a running game (Payton ain't his daddy). I think Miami has to rely on last minute heroics from their Tight End yet again.
Miami pulls an Ohio State and squeaks by in Blacksburg, Miami by 3.
Washington State vs. USC
Which USC shows up today? The one that shut out Auburn or the one that gave it up to Cal? You can never tell in the Pac-10. This is the most inexplicable conference in the history of College Football. Great against some teams, others, not so great. I never really pay much attention to the Pac-10 anyway. So I'm going to have to say:
Tossup.
Georgia #4 vs. Florida #21
Georgia just hasn't been able to get it done in the past two games. Vanderbilt gave them a scare as did the University of Alabama.... Birmingham that is. Florida, another fairly inconsistant team I think will show up to this one and make Georgia pay for its much more inconsistant play.
Florida wins by 21.
Nebraska #9 vs. #16 Texas
Texas has been suspect against any team that has shown they can play Defense (see Oklahoma). Vince Young, while a great runner cannot win football games single-handedly... well maybe he can against New Mexico State or Baylor. Texas' defense has also been horrible at stopping the run. Nebraska was pretty good at running the ball last time I checked. This doth not bode well for Texas.
The Sooners' SOS takes a hit here.. but who gives a damn? It's Tejas.. Nebraska should embarass the whorns... Nebraska by 28.
