Post Why is our board dead?

Ummm...so how many Tri Delts do we actually have at this site?? Cause every time I post on other boards, I see a lot of other sororites, but I don't see many Tri Deltas.

So I'll start by introducing myself:

I'm Cara, from Gamma Omega Chapter at Richard Stockton College in New Jersey. If anyone is ever in Atlantic City, or New Jersey, come stop by and see us.

I'm a senior, I'm a founding sister of the chapter -which is why I love meeting people from older chapters, because it really blows my mind that this organziation has been around for so long. It also amazes me that our rituals were created by someone my own age in 1888. I can't imagine creating something this large, and writting words and rituals that are so deep.

I run XC and pole vault for my college.

Fav Thing about Tri Delta: the dolphin. I'm a Marine Bio major, and conviently already had an entire room full of dolphin stuff.

Least Fav- having to dress up on meeting days, and the fact that even if I wear nice jeans and a nice shirt, I still can't wear my pin. I usually never get to wear it It slighty annoying since we don't have a house. So we get all dressed up and walk to the academic classrooms to have a meeting.

Sign- Scorpio

I think thats about it...I can't think of anything else to say about myself. So....if anyone else is out there, introduce yourself, and ask me if theres any questions for me!!!!

I'm here! But I think I'm one of the few other Tri Delts that post here. For some reason, even though we're one of the biggest NPC sororities, there's almost none of us posting here. I really wish our board was as active as some of the other ones, but with only a couple people here it's tough.

I'm Heather, from the Mu chapter at the University of Wisconsin. It's been in continuous existence for over a hundred years -- since 1898! I think that is really cool, to think of all the history behind it. At chapter, our secretary sometimes reads us the notes from chapter meetings from the 1920s or 1950s. It's funny to realize how much of it is so different and how much of it is exactly the same.

I'll be a junior this fall. I rushed in the fall of 2002, when I was a sophomore. I transferred from the University of Minnesota, and I was thinking of rushing while I was there, but I was glad I waited till I transferred because otherwise, I probably wouldn't be a Tri Delt. I'm majoring in creative writing and Italian. I'm living in the house this year, which I'm really excited about. We have a big old white house with three stories. Unlike the dorms, it really feels like a home -- all the rooms have their own personalities. The cutest part is the bathrooms -- when they were re-done a couple years ago, the decorator made them Tri Delta themed. It's all blue and silver, there are triangle-shaped tiles (like Deltas!), and there's three of everything (showers, sinks).

(I used to run XC in high school! Yay runners!)

Favorite things about Tri Delta:
(Nationally) I LOVE our symbols, colors, mascot, flower, all the superficial things. I remember last summer before I rushed, I was looking at all the national sorority websites, and I remember loving Tri Delta's symbols even then. If I had to pick a sorority on symbols/colors/mascot, I would be either a Tri Delt, and Alpha Xi Delta, or a Pi Phi. And I think our pin is really pretty.

I love how strong Tri Delta is nationally, too. I see people on this board saying things like, "I've never seen a weak Tri Delt chapter," and I think that's really cool.

(In my chapter) I love how much diversity there is in terms of personalities. We have the girls who party, the girls who study, the beauty queens, the athletes, the leaders . . . we have everything. And we all get along! That was one of the things I loved during rush -- when we had house tours, I went from one room, where there was a poster of a hot Abercrombie boy, to another where there was a poster of Mason Jennings (an indie/folk singer from Minnesota). Every bedroom that I saw obviously belonged to a girl with a completely unique personality.

Least favorite thing: Going to weekly chapter meeting. The house was a mile away from my dorm, so every Monday night after a long day of class, I had to trek a mile (uphill!) to the house, sit through a long meeting, and go the mile home before I could even start my homework.

Oh yeah, and I'm an insomniac, which explains why I'm posting this at 3:30 in the morning.

hehe- insomnia- must be a Tri Delt thing. I usually am on at odd hours, but I've been perm substitute teaching so I have to actually keep semi normal hours. The fact that I get up at 6am to run doesn't help any either.(YAY RUNNERS- yeah, we're weird)

I love our pin too...I should have mentioned that. I really really like it, cause honestly, I think alot of the other NPC pins are kinda almost gaudy because they have soooooo many jewels. I mean they are nice, and I'm sure if I was a member of the group, I probably wouldn't think that. But looking at them, I think I would be scared to wear them, lest I was walking down the street in NYC and some guy wouls hold me up and demand my pin.

I'm a Delta Gamma, but the Tri Deltas were very nice to me when I was newly arrived in Toronto. The alumnae invited me to a "mock-tail" party at the Tri Delta house and they had a silent auction, etc. So THANK YOU!

Okay, yes, I feel the frustrations of not seeing fellow Tri Delts posting!
I will try to be brief...
Grew up in Wisconsin (it will alway be home). Went to undergrad at The University of Tulsa, have moved all over the country since and now am working toward my masters at NC State. Oh how I wish they had a chapter here!

Funny how ya'll mention loving colors and mascots--I can remember getting my rush booklet sent to me before I started college. Looking through it, I thought Tri Delt and Kappas were the only ones I would like (mainly b/c colors). The clincher for me was meeting girls that I had thought were in other houses and thinking "oh maybe ABC isn't that bad if they have a girl like this in their house"--Then I come to find out these girls I liked so much were Tri Delts!

The thing I really loved about my house was how we had a house full of gorgeous women that could have gotten away with being pretetious, yet they were so down to earth and laid back. And FUN!

Okay enough of my novel...I loved my days as a collegiate!

We Pi Phis have the same problem. I'm hoping that having mods now will help us activate the room...

My advice, from what I've heard about other forums, is to get a few more regular posters (I mean, there are only like 10 Pi Phi GC regulars), get a mod, and then use that resource to activate the board.

You literally just email John every once in a while saying "our board needs a mod". And it will be taken care of.
