A Political Analyst For Everybody

Gary Coleman to be political analyst on comedy radio network

(10-13) 20:30 PDT LOS ANGELES (AP) --

Former childhood actor Gary Coleman didn't win California's recall election, but he'll still get a political platform on the new Hollywood-based All Comedy Radio network.

Coleman, 35, has been tapped to become the network's political analyst and said his experience as a candidate will come in handy in this new assignment.

He finished eighth out of 135 candidates vying to replace Gov. Gray Davis in last week's election, losing to fellow actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Among the topics Coleman will tackle will be the 2004 presidential election.

"We're delighted to have a commentator with such keen insight and experience as Mr. Coleman," said All Comedy Radio co-founder and chief executive officer Michael O'Shea.

"The way we look at it Gary was 'Arnold' before Arnold was cool," he said in a statement. Coleman's character on "Diff'rent Strokes" was named Arnold.

The All Comedy Radio network has been on the air for about a month and has more than a dozen affiliates nationwide. Coleman begins his on-air political commentaries Friday,
