To My Sisters
Dear Ladies,
I'm not really sure how to say this, so I'll just jump in the middle and head for the shore!
I've been asked a lot lately what sorority - what Alpha Delta Pi - means to me, why I should care about something I joined in college ("for heaven's sake!"). Even when I point to the framed copy of our Creed that I have, and say, "I believe every word," I'm finding that most people just don't get it. High on this list is my fiance, who is sweet as he can be but, not having GLOs on his campus, he doesn't understand.
And then, something happens like today. I was horrified at first, but when the awful truth set in, did what I thought was necessary for the sake of Alpha Delta Pi. I was pretty worried that I looked like Chicken Little, but instead, I received all of your wonderful PMs and emails from sisters who also care about that same vow we each took at both bidding and initiation.
I have tears streaming down my face - and I am NOT a crier! Around the world are so many wonderful ADPi sisters, each of them concerned about maintaining the standards set in 1851 in this modern, cyber-filled world. How incredibly rich we are to have each other!
I never had a biological sister, but more than ever, I don't feel the need for one. I have my Alpha Delta Pi Sisterhood, and I couldn't love a real sister more than I love each of you today.
Thank you, my sisters, on behalf of all we hold sacred. We Live For Each Other!
Loyally & Love,
Honeychile
