Good evening Nupe4Life:
I didn't get a chance to come back into this forum and look at the threads after I got back from Charlotte, but I guess now is as good a time as any to let you know what I thought about the Konclave and Charlotte.
I had an absolutely wonderful time in Charlotte. I was blessed enough to stay at the Charlotte Hilton and Towers meaning that the convenience level was unparalleled. My father and I did a lot of sight-seeing, but since he was taking care of business, I also did a lot of things on my own. I, of course, had to go to the malls in the area (SouthPark Mall, Eastland Mall, Carolina Place). In addition, I took a tour of Ericcson Stadium and got a chance to go on the field for a bit. I also got a chance to visit the Johnson C. Smith campus and went to Mert's more than once.
The members of Kappa Alpha Psi made the family members of the members feel so welcome and secure (personal escort from the Omni to the Hilton, driver if requested). There were all kinds of activities that were planned, but I tend to do things on my own (Cleveland, Atlanta, Detroit, Philadelphia, Nashville, Orlando, Los Angeles, just to name a few). Cleo's award was touching. The Public Meeting was a wonderful sight to behold -- ask your friends who went about Kevin/Richard/standing up during the welcome from one of the NPHC Presidents -- quite charming. The job fair was an interesting and informative addition to the meeting. The Kappa Khorus Concert was tremendous as always. Oh, and I got a picture with Sammy.
I had a wonderful time in Charlotte and the fraternity members were kind and polite. They and the city of Charlotte rolled out the red carpet and one can only imagine how superb things will be in Minneapolis.
