There is a feature article in the URI alumni magazine, QUADangles, about Rhode Island First Lady Suzanne Carcieri. In the article, Suzanne speaks fondly about her days as a member of Chi Omega's Lambda Beta Chapter. She also jokingly talks about how her husband (Rhode Island governor Don Carcieri), a Lambda Chi Alpha from Brown, never gave her his fraternity pin during their college days.
The ironic part of this story is that Rhode Island's last governor and first lady, Lincoln and Marilyn Almond, were also greek- Lincoln was a Lambda Chi from URI and Marilyn was also a member of Chi Omega's Lambda Beta chapter!
