Question Honorary Members

Soror,

I have a question....Do you know if any honorary members remain active once they become members?

I want to say YES, but I will stay away from this for now since I cannot effectively back it up with proof.

most honorary members are well to do financially so if they are not active, it has to be due to time constraints or they just never had love for the sorority in the first place. i personally don't see the need for honorary members, we've been around long enough, so that if someone is interested let them seek us out period. yeah they did something great so give them an award, not membership.

Hello all. I have a question (I hope it's appropriate--if it isn't then please say so). I was wondering if all the famous members of your prestigious sorority are honorary members or did some of them actually go through the MIP (or pledge as it used to be called) process (like, for example, Yvonne Brathwaite-Burke, who I want to be like, and Maya Angelou, who I just adore, are both famous members of your organizaton, but are they honorary or not)?
Thanx

I didn't mean any disrespect by using the term "famous"; these are strong Black women that I hold in a very high regard and would never want to disrespect them or you b/c Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.--your sorority--has made many valuable contributions to our community and the world--without honorary members...if I did offend you I give you my deepest apologies...I was just wondering about the question I asked...maybe I should have phrased it differently...
