Las Vegas
Hi Sisters,
I was wondering if you had any recommendations on places to see, what attractions to visit, etc.
I will be going to Vegas this weekend (March 19th-21st) with some friends. I'm looking forward to it.
Also just curious to see if any sisters are in vegas, maybe we could meet up. Sorry for the short notice.
Thanks for the help.
Pi love,
Ally

I just went this past October for the first time. Make sure to go see the Bellagios water show. It is a freebie and happens every 15-30 minutes after dusk. There is a bar inside by the casino that over looks the water. I highly recommend sitting there for a show or two. Kind of pricey, but well worth it!!

I went to Las Vegas for my honeymoon in November 2002. I have never had so much fun on a trip! If you like to shop, go to the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. They have the most fabulous stores. We also saw a few shows while we were there, but my favorite was Danny Ganns (sp). He was wonderful!! You're going to have an amazing time!!

Okay, I've been to Vegas four times, so here are my recommendations. I too was going to recommend the Bellagio water show. It is amazing to watch. There is also the sinking of the ship down at Treasure Island. That is pretty interesting to watch. Since Sigfried and Roy is on an extended hiatus I'm sure sure if the animals are still in Vegas, if they are just go to The Mirage and they actually have glass windows so you could see the tigers. Like I said, don't know if the tigers are there or not but if so, they are beautiful animals. The MGM grand I believe also have some lions that you might be able to see (hey you could take a picture and name it Alphie). What else? The Tropicana used to have a good magic show, I'm not sure if it's still around or not though. There is also the jousting at The Excaliber. Mandalay Bay has a shark exhibit. It was about 15 bucks the last time I went (probably more now) but you go through the exhibits in a guided tour (via headphones) and can see lots of different types of exotic animals. Then eventually you end up in a room where sharks are swimming all around you and above you. It is pretty cool. Not that this is an exhibit or anything but just go to the Mandalay Bay if you have a chance because this hotel is beautiful, plus it is one of the few hotels on the strip where you walk into the casino and aren't blasted away by cigarette smoke.
The Paris and Aladdin are also beautiful hotels to check out. They don't have 'shows' persay, but they are pretty. One of the hotels (I believe The Paris) has gondala rides that you can go on.
There are 'underground' shopping centers also. One starts at I believe The Mirage and ends at Cesears Palace. The other is around the Aladdin and Paris hotels.
Hope that you have a great time. You should check to see if the UNLV chapter is on spring break or not, you might be able to meet a few sisters.

The gondolas are at the Venetian, where I highly recommend you go and view the architecture. It is absolutely gorgeous!!
The lions at MGM are great!!! We took some wonderful pictures of Alphie while we were there.
OH THE best thing i can tell you yet!!! BUY A BUSS PASS!!!!!! i'm not kidding. It will take you all over the strip without having to walk it. I learned this the hard way. We stayed at Circus Circus which is on the far end of the strip and wanted to see everything on the south side. LOTS OF WALKING. I hurt so bad by the end of day one, we slept in just to give my feet a rest. Its like $5 for the day and you can ride as many times that day as you wish.

The Venetian, that was it. Man, I feel dumb. You think I would have remembered that.

I went to Vegas this past November to celebrate my 21st birthday, and my favorite thing was a show in the Rio called Tony and Tina's wedding. It was fantastic! I really suggest you look into it, especially because it's an interactive dinner theater. Other than that, touring the hotels, and visiting ELVIS-A-RAMA were the highlights! Have a great time!

Ditto to absolutely everything here.
PLUS...
I'm a Star Trek geek. The Las Vegas Hilton (opposite end of the strip from Mandalay Bay) has a live interactive exhibit called Star Trek: The Experience. It's been upgraded this very week and reformatted as "Borg Invasion". I still can't figure out how they made the transporter work!!!
The usual trappings in addition to the interactive were the Trek museum and a mockup of The Promenade from DS9, including Quark's Bar. (They have Klingons and Ferengi hanging around all over the place and there is a field day when kids show up in costume.) If you stop in the bar, I personally recommend the Warp Core Breach. Make sure you bring a friend to share it.
One more item about the Mandalay Bay - if you can stay there, hang out on the "beach" - they have a wave pool w/ a real beach and at night there are concerts on the stage in the middle of the pool.
Hope you have fun - if you're bringing "throw away" money, I can recommend the blackjack tables at Mandalay. (Yes, I won!)

Thanks for all the idea!!!!!!!!!! I appreciate it. I was thinking if the 2 girls and I got tired of gambling (ie nickle and dime slots, I know i'm a high roller hehe ) we could do a spa treatment thing. It sounds cool. There is 5 of us (3 girls, 2 guys), we might goto a nightclub one night. I'll let ya know how it goes

viva las vegas!!
All of the rollercoasters on the strip are really fun, my personal favorite is "speed the ride" at the sahara. Don't go on the coaster on top of the stratosphere it is a big waste of money, but the "Big Shot" is really fun if you're into thrills. Defiantely go to the top of the Stratosphere at night you get an awesome view of the city lights. Then on your way back down you can stop for milkshakes at Roxy's diner and let the talented serving staff entertain you with a song.
The absolute Best italian food is at Cappazolis on Maryland Parkway up the street from UNLV its' about 5 min away from the strip but well worth the cab fare, it's a local dive but its fabulous.
if you don't want to walk too much there are monoralis that go between the MGM Grand and Ballys and also another one that connects the Bellagio, the Monte Carlo, Excalibur, Luxor, and the Manadalay Bay, they are all free.
If it's nightlife you crave The Palm is THE place Rain and Ghost Bar are the #1 party spots.
The coolest shopping Mall is The Desert Passage at the Aladdin it rains inside every half hour and it has alot of really neat shops, the second best would be the forum shops at Ceasars followed by the grand canal shoppes at the Venetian.
If you need to buy necessities, or things that aren't from designer labels take a short bus/cab ride down Flamingo there is a Target and if you go to the intersection and make a left on Marlyand parkway there is a Shopping mall which I gaurentee has better prices than anything on the strip.
Definately see all the free stuff the fountians and the garden at Bellagio, the volcano at the mirage, I can't remember if the pirate show is still going but if it is see that.
There are now penny slots at most casinos so you can really stretch your gambling dollar.
And finally, if you want to meet some adpi's PM me and i'll tell you where to find my Diamond Sis.
Hope this helps!!!!
