9-11 and ground zero

Last year at this time I had just gotten back form New York. I got the chance to visit ground zero. It was very emotional.I remember the silence, the park across the street that was drapped in flowers, pictures, memrobilia in memory of the lives that were lost. Down by the harbor lots of police, fire and any rescue teams patches were on display. The buildings around me were still distructed. And the ground that the the Towers were on...Empty.

Coming form california and going to New York really hit me hard. I saw familes cry together remembering thier loved ones. I saw children that lost a mom or a dad and I saw parents that had lost thier children. I didnt know personally didnt know anyone that had lost thier life that day but I felt the grief as if I did.

I would like to thank all the Men and Women and Troops that risked thier lives for someone else and that are still over seaseas. Come home safely. To all that lost someone my thoughts and prayers are with you.
I hope everyone takes a moment today to remeber 9-11
