Question! Needs Answered!

Okay, I was talking to one of TKE209's bro's today along with his fiance (a fellow Sweetheart) when the topic of being pinned and etc came up.

I was under the impression that if you are made into a Sweetheart (by pinning) and you break up, you are no longer a Sweetheart. So, you also lose the "letter wearing" priviledges and all. Heck even TKE209 thought this way, because personally if we would break up I would feel weird wearing "his" letters

But, it was told to me today, that even if the relationship fails you are still a TKE Sweetheart and still hold the "priviledges" of it. He told me that once back in the day that an alumni turned in his letters but his girlfriend was still a Sweetheart and could attend functions.

I'm confused, please be kind and give me your insight.

Depends on what kind of sweetheart u are. If the chapter votes u as their chapter sweetheart you are always one. If your a sweetheart by a bf with a pin then you aren't one after you break up. Thats the way i always knew it.

That's basically a chapter's choice.

Some chapters have rules on who can wear letters, other's don't. The only thing restricted in the Black Book (Int. bylaws) is that non initiated people can't wear the crest.

I'd say for priviledges, it'd be whatever the chapter wants to do.

If you really want to find the end all answer, get your hands on that chapter's bylaws, and see if there's anything about it in there (if they keep it up to date)
