Miami Vice: The Movie
Opens Friday
Anyone plan on seeing the film?
I was a major Crockett and Tubbs fan during the 80s. I like Colin. Jamie is okay, but I may wait a week or so before I see it.

What are the reviews on this movie? When I don't see reviews that means that the studio didn't screen it for a lot of critics. That could be a bad sign. I like Michael Mann films and the cast seems pretty good but sometimes you never know.

Saw it. It's great living in Miami!!! It was ok at best. Great action scenes. The story line was as flat as week old Pepsi, but it had daymn good action!

I don't know. I like Jamie Foxx and all, but dayum, when did he become such a hot item. I remember when he was Wanda the Ugly woman on In Living Color. Now, he is everywhere; tounging down Fantasia, always singing when he gets an award-note to Jamie, that is OLD, don't do it no mo'- I'm going to wait until bootleg man comes to the shop and I'll look at it then. I haven't liked Colin Ferrell since The Phonebooth. I was like "SHOOT HIS AZZ NOW!!". Anyway, are there any good movies coming out soon?

Saw it. It was pretty good.
Jamie was good (actually better that I thought). I wish he was on more. Colin... To me, he overacted. I'm trying to figure out if he was trying to channel Don Johnson. But I liked that they tried to incorpate characters from the show and put them in the movie. This movie didn't seem like a big joke like they do with a lot of these TV shows they turn into movies.
The movie seemed like it was longer than two hours. I think it was partly it was the story and partly it was all the previews before the movie. Some of those previews were not that great. Two of them were for World Trade Center and Snakes on a Plane.
You can PM me to discuss more so I won't give it away for those who haven't seen it.

Not sure if I liked this movie or not. The violence was great though. There wasn't gratuitous violence but when there was action it was good. Those who saw the movie know what I mean. All I'm gonna say is the latin sista with the gun.

I agree. Not a lot of blood in this movie. My uncle (who is a big MV fan) wants to also take my 13-year-old cousin (he's mature for his age). I told him the violence wasn't that bad but I was more concerned about a certain love scene (N4L knows what I'm talking about). And the Latina was off the chain!

LOL!
Another point is that since this movie is up-to-date, there's not a lot of songs that were used from the show. There was a remake of "In The Air Tonight" and that wasn't until the end. They did use a lot of songs from today (India's song is one of them). Soror Gina (when she comes back from Philly) will love the very first scene from the movie. They played "Encore/Numb".
ETA: I read in People yesterday that Collin had some issues while making the movie and went to rehab after filming ended. Maybe that explains his performance.
