It aired last night on Showtime. Did anyone see it?

Starring Danny Glover and Whoopi Goldberg who haven't worked together in 17 years since 'The Color Purple' and Mo'Nique.

Determined to live the American dream, upwardly mobile black lawyer Tom Spader (Danny Glover) is proud to win a high-profile case and move his family to the white, wealthy enclave of Greenwich, Connecticut. While his wife Mabel (Whoopi Goldberg) has mixed feelings about their new life, Tom's on the fast track to a State Supreme Court appointment - until another African-American family moves into the neighborhood, a presence Tom feels will jeopardize his plans. Mo'nique costars in this original drama.

Also, I'm waiting for Forrest Whitaker and DFD. Since it's set in Bogalusa.

I didn't really care for it. The script needed a little more work. Also, I saw the movie without the soundtrack, so that may have effected my opinion of it. Good concept though. My friends and I were wondering when and how it would be released. I knew that it would not be released in theaters.

I watched it, I thought it was ok.

Mo'Nique had me LMAO that woman is just plain nutty!

Very challenging movie and I liked watching it.

I could relate because it was set in the mid-late 1970s, when I was a kid and teenager. We weren't as well-off as the Spaders, but I could relate to the identity issues and such. And thank God that my Dad wasn't tortured that much by assimilation issues.

It was interesting to see how each kid reacted to the not-fitting-in syndrome. Tommy sought out Morehouse College. Stormy ended up like Janet Cooke -- no matter how many Peter Pan collars or how you dye your hair, you're not white and you're not going to be white.

Whoopi Goldberg was the moral center of this movie, but she had her epiphany rather late, IMO.

Danny Glover=chilling performance. I was disturbed that he wasn't punished for what he did to one of Mo'Nique's houses.

Finally saw it last night. I realized mid way that I had read the book last year (same title by Erika Ellis). . .

I enjoyed it though. It's a trip, but there are a lot more Black folks out there like the Spaders than we can even imagine.

I wanted to slap the CHIT out of STORMY for reading SEVENTEEN while ROOTS was on.

That showed me that the parents had no real control over their kids. **smh**

I hear that. I also noticed that Ms. Thang read a magazine while Roots was on. Yup, the Spaders weren't necessarily on the ball with certain parenting issues.
