Hi everyone!
I posted before on the 'Who's Rushing in the Spring' thread, but I'm getting increasingly more excited about rush so I figured I would create my own rush thread. I'm going through formal Spring recruitment at the University of Richmond, which started this week. We have six chapters involved in formal recruitment.
Tuesday night was the first night, 'Go Greek' night. We went around to all of the sororities with our Rho Gamma groups and met and spoke with a bunch of the sisters. Each sorority prepared a very cute slide show. I had a really good time and surprised myself by not being very nervous at all. I made sure to ask lots of questions, and I even found out that some sisters and I had shared similar jobs or were even in the same classes this semester!
Yesterday we received our invites back for tonight. I got invited back to all six, but I was required to drop one. I knew a few other girls that got invited back to all of the sororities, so I figured that was pretty much the norm, but then I found out that a lot of the girls actually only got asked back to two or three.
Tonight is Philanthropy night. I will be visiting five of the sororities and learning more about each of their philanthropies and I think even doing some crafts
Friday I'll find out where I got invited back to again. Friday night is 'Sisterhood Night' and Saturday night is Pref Night. And then Sunday is obviously Bid Day.
I'm really excited about the whole process, and a lot less nervous than I was originally. I went into it with a pretty open mind and have already been impressed with some sororities that I wasn't very interested in prior.
I'll try to keep this updated!
