Expansion
Hey guys, my sorority might hopefully (we're keeping our fingers crossed on this one! ) be expanding to two other campuses in the fall. It's been a while since we've expanded so I was wondering for all of the founders that are out there on GC, what kinds of things did you have to go through/do in order to establish your chapter and how long did everything take? Thanx guys.
Keep your fingers crossed for us!!!

I'm working on an Expansion project too. In Beta, we call it Extension since we are "extending the hand of friendship." Good luck to you and your sisters. Watching a chapter blossom is so exciting! I am part of a chapter that is under a year old.

Hey guys, sorry it's taken so long for me to respond. KLP is a local sorority that was founded with the hopes to be the 27th sorority to join the NPC. So far, we have 5 chapters. I'm from the Delta chapter at Marist College where we have about 22 sisters. We had more but we had about 12 girls graduate this past spring. We tried to establish a chapter at Manhattan College but now it turns out that we won't be able to do that. . My best friend goes to Barnard and she and some of her friends want to start up a chapter at Columbia so right now we're working with the school to do that. We also sent out letters to various schools in the metropolitan NYC area to see where we can start chapters. Well that's about it. Pm me if you guys have any more questions! Buttonz, thanx for all your support and I hope you're having a great time in Florida!!!

have you ever thought about approaching local chapters to affiliate with your organization? I would think some schools might be more willing to embrace that, most schools would rather have a chapter affiliated with a larger organization even if its not in a national conference. I know on my campus we would rather have anything but another local because we feel having national oversite encourages a greater level of organization and responsibility. i know the npc would love for any of our locals to affiliate with any type of national organizations.
plus there are a lot of great locals out there that might be excited about getting in on the ground floor in your pursuit to eventually become NPC affiliated.

Maybe you should consider affiliating with an existing NPC sorority. No sorority has joined NPC since 1951.
Whatever you decide, good luck!

Hey guys, so here's an update: I talked to Baruch today and the person I talked to said that we could start a chapter there. I left a message on the machine of the person in charge so I'm waiting to hear back. Then I got in touch with Brooklyn College and I put in an application for the Inter Greek Council there to consider us. Hopefully all will turn out well. A massive amount of thanks to Buttonz for all of your support and help through all of this.

FL was ok (but you know that since I've spoken to you lol) I am really happy for you girls and I do hope everything works out. Although it's true that no one has joined NPC in a long time, if you girls are willing to put in the hard work that is needed (and it seems that you are) you girls hopefully one day will reach your goal. Sierra had a good idea, although I don't know if you girls would want to do something like that, it might be a lil easier. Good luck and keep me updated, hun!

ooh, good luck with Baruch, I don't really know much about Greek Life there though. I think they have a chapter of Alpha Phi Delta, an Asian sorority and an Asian fraternity, but I could be wrong on that. I have always thought AEPhi should try to start a chapter there but I have never really known the right way to go about starting chapters.
Hmm... now that you have spoken to someone at Brooklyn College I am wondering if you're one of the mysterious GLO's who is petitioning for membership in IGC. The IGC Prez and the Greek Advisor keep on mentioning at least one fraternity and one sorority to me but they keep forgetting the letters. PM me and let me know who you spoke to. I was really into IGC before I started focusing on Panhel so I know almost all of the rules on both ends and I want to make sure you were given the correct info.
Its so fun that we're talking about Brooklyn College on Greek Chat - it almost never happens!
BTW, do you guys have a website? I would love to check it out!
