Its great for events..like Greek Week or other sorority competitions...!!!!

How does recruitment work at other chapters? Since we dont have houses we dont do skits or anything like that...we have a room that we decorate to make it our own....

Do you guys sing songs to the PNMs when the enter the room?? or what do you guys do???

Any cute songs you guys use???? We're prepping for fall already and we want everything to be perfect!!!!

hey deegeeprincess,
we dont have houses either here at the univ of north florida so i totally know how it goes holdin recruitment in a single room. this is how our recruitment works:
1st night = nautical night...we sometimes wear our sailor hats that night and have a nautical theme throughout the room.
2nd night = coloring a dark world...in the past we have decorated the room with all possible colors and then spend the night talking about our philanthropy.
3rd night = pref night...and we all know how special and awesome that night is :-)

...as far as songs go each year, we switch them up...how it works here...the PNM's stand outside of the doors before the parties begin and we as a chapter usually do a chant before we open the doors so the PNM's can hear us and we get all wiled up for the party and the PMM's can hear our enthusiasm...our chants usually include the ones that have been mentioned here and also theres one "bim bam hot damn we're the girls of delta gam..." or somethin i cannot remember all the words arghhh hehe! but yea then we sing them a song as they enter the room and sing some songs during the parties and then sing some songs when they leave and then end on a chant.
...the songs like i said usually differ each year...we of course sing some of the traditional ones (anchor bright, will you wear our anchor, etc)...but i know in the past we have also reworded some songs...like we turned nellys ride wit me into ... if you wanna go and take a ride wit me to learn more about the sisters of delta gee and why that we feel this way...heyyyy must be DG...i think i posted all the lyrics to that one on here a longggggg time ago hehe....and last year we reworded the words from my brown eyed girl to my DG girl. sooo yea long enough post i think already...woohoo

DeltaGammaRocks you are too funny! At my school we pretty much did the same as GeorginaDG63 said. The DGs get in double lines and chant and cheer while the pnms enters in a single line and we take turns grabbing them. It is so much fun! We sung

Hopefully that picture works...I'm still having problems with my "techno-talk"
Our recruitment works a lot of the same way. We don't have a house, so we have our own room all week, in the student union, that we decorate and we sing chant and cheer as they come in, a little during, and as they leave, we sing or chant...usually as they leave we sing "mmmm i want to linger". But it varies. We don't have set themes, but we rotate and keep things new. ::looks around:: who knows where there may be spies, so i can't tell you about THIS years theme, but i'll tell you about last years. (we have problems with the other NPC group *whom shall remain nameless* stealing our theme and then it becomes 'who can out theme the other') Last year we did "Delta Gamma's from Coast to Coast" The first night was "DG's in NYC" (the skyline backdrop, everyone was "sophisticated" and it was a classy information night) the next night was "DGs southern style" and we basically did a mardis gras night. The last night of informal parties was "DG's head west" and it was a texas-themed party. Chips and salsa, non alcoholic margarita mix, kind of a cowboy theme (should that picture WORK, it's a group pic after the texas night). We brought in bales of straw to sit on and hannah was handling the lasso and everything...it worked really well. The last night was pref and it had kind of an "unofficial" hawaiian/tropical theme. We had tropical fruit and we all had leis....part of what sold me on dg was during pref night. They said "the islanders have a tradition, if a visitor throws their lei into the ocean and the waves carry it back to shore, the visitor too will return to their new island home" (or something to that effect) but she continued to say "as you leave today, please place your leis on our anchor as we hope that tomorrow you will return to us as new sisters"
it was cool....i cried :-P

Our recruitment is basicially the same then...we're not allowed to have themes or do skits...i dont know why...but...!!!

Auburn doesn't have houses, and our recruitment goes like this:

Round 1: Ice Water Teas (2 days)
Round 2: Philanthropy Day (2 days)
Round 3: Skit Day (1 day)
Round 4: Pref
BID DAY!

We also sing when the PNMs come into the room. This will be my first recruitment "behind the scenes", so I am excitied! Actually, this will be my first recruitment experience, because I am a colonizing member of my chapter!

MEL! That's my favorite chant/song! We should have compared notes when we got together that time! It would have bored our husbands to tears, but it would have been fun for us!

ok...so i am getting dressed this morning and this song is stuck in my head. i am walking around my apt singing:
