Tom's House

Bringing down the house
CAPTION:The Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity house, 101 W. Lindburg, lies half razed Saturday, after demolition began last week to clear the way for a new facility. The house, built in the late 1800s, was simply becoming too expensive to maintain, so a fund-raising campaign was begun to pay for a new fraternity house, according to Kent Bumgarner, president of the fraternity's housing corporation. They expect to have the new house built in time for the fall semester next year.

Unhappy

Well, the LX Z House is no more!

It "The Grand Ole Dame" as she was to scores of Young Brothers is an empty hole! She did finally have to go!

For those of us who have had Houses, it is The Focul Point to meet and then disperse from there.

I am so saddened by the loss, that it is hard to put into words.

For those that never had a house, it is hard to put into words what you have missed. I know there are Zetas like BN (FTI) that never had one and who have done very well. I also know, that they are looking into aquiring a house in the Future! Good Luck!

The Brothers at Shippensburg built a new house and are loving every minute of it!

Very Hopefully, we can get a new House Built for the start of Fall Sem. next year.

Party at Tom's place! Woohoo...

I am one of the lucky ones (non-Pittsburg) who have actually partied at both the House that was just torn down and at Tom's house in KC.

What a time we had! It was their Founders' Day and the actives were very accommodating and cordial - and I was some old guy from another chapter! Got lotsa pictures of the old house that weekend too.

Back at Tom's house, he and I celebrated my 50th BD and were wringing out what had been a brand new litre of scotch before giving up and going to bed!

That was last February. Hail the 'Grand old Lady' and hail Tom!

ZAX,
Jono
(Matt, you'd have loved it too! See you again in MLB in Oct?)
