Many of the systems are old! Dont build anymore Fossil Fuel Power or Nuke Plants! Da!
Lets go back to "NO DAMN AIR" in a sumer that has already killed 3,000 in France!
There was a devastating Ice Storm 3 Years ago in Kansas City Metro area that people had no power for 3 months!
I for one try to consearve as much as I can, but Some Dont!
Wait till this winter with the new Natural Gas Hikes in store for us all!

it started in canada, it is not terrorism, ppl are stuck in elevators and subways and in niagra theyre stuck too. In 1960 this nyc was plunged in to a power outage overnight, 800000 ppl were stuck in places they had to be rescued from, elevators or trains! imagine how many are stuck now.

You're off by five years... it happened in November, 1965... I was not even a year old when that happened.

I hope that Cream and our other GC'ers from up north are all doing okay.
I hadn't even thought of being stuck in an elevator. I would totally freak out if I was stuck in the elevator on the 30 something floor of a NYC building.

I feel so bad for my sister... it's only her 2nd day at her internship in the city and she walked from there to Port Authority (she takes the subway since it's so far away but obviously she couldn't), gets there and then it's total chaos as expected, and leaves to go to my dad's office which is also very far away... now she's stuck in Manhattan with him... at least they're together so I feel a little better about that.

FOX ROX
Yeah, I had some friends up there who are stuck doing nothing on vacation. Thank goodness they had a hotel room. I was watching a network news channel, and my friend called me to tell me about it. He knew before the news did. I switched to Fox and they already had people covering it. I hate the local news. I mean, how could they have missed it when it was already on fox?

The power outage was crazy last night.
I was sitting on the ceck trying to read a book by candlelight and the streets were pitch black. People were walking the streets with flashlights trying to find their way home or even get into their front doors.
Like 20 teenage boys were running up and down the streets screaming and yelling. It was rather amusing.
I just glad the power is finally back on. I haven't really been watching the news so I don't know if it's completely restored everywhere.
