Greek Goddess Theme for Bid Day

The other social chair and I are thinking of doing a Greek Goddess theme for our bid day party this year called "Alpha Xi Goddess" or " Xi Goddesses"

I'm having troube trying to figure out how to decorate for that and I was wondering if anyone ever thought of this before or has any ideas as to what to use for decorations. All that we have thought of so far is Columns, lots of gold, togas and vines. Are there any other things that we can do?

Play songs like,"I'm Your Venus," and maybe the hercules soundtrack. (Cheesy, I know, but I'm just brainstorming here.)

Get shirts in a sorority color (one solid) and buy some glitter paint or something to label each across the chest,"the Goddess [sorority nickname]." Or order them from someplace, if you have the funds.

Give each new member a photoalbum, each personalized with decorative designs and such, with the title "Welcome to the Pantheon, [NM name here]!"

Grapes. Lots of grapes.

That's all I can think of right now but I'm sure you'll have other suggestions. ^_^ Good luck!

What's a goddess without her crown, laurel wreath, etc??

Good luck, I can't wait to see what our bid day theme is this year, they like to keep it a suprise!

Using some white guaze to drape around will also look really nice. You could wrap the vines around that, or drape it between columns. Also, if you're going to do grapes, you can get plastic platters at party city that look like they're made of gold. If you have tables, you could make centerpieces that represent different goddesses. Like, for Athena you could put a helmet and an owl....obviously that would require some research and effort, but it could be cute.

This probably wouldn't even apply toward a Bid Day but I do like the theme of the goddess thing. Along with everything else which has been mentioned throughout this thread, I was thinking of having some fraternity guys fan the sisters like they do in the movies. You know...they are like half lying down and some people are fanning with those huge feathers. But having guys do that might be considered a no no in some greek organizations.

For a Bid Day shirt, there's always the theme "If you're going to go greek, why not be a goddess?"
