Tell Me About Your Pref

Okay, ya'll know that since I came in as an Alumna Initiate, that I didn't have the benefit of an Alpha Phi pref ceremony to help me make up my mind. So I'm hoping that some of you will share your memories of Pref with me.

(I'm really asking because I'm going to be at Beta Theta's Pref in September and I want to know what to expect )

Well, if you are worried...don't be because I'm sure Beta Theta will tell you what's going on .

Otherwise I'll tell you about my pref experience when I rushed! It was actually what made me choose Alpha Phi. There were only 3 NPC sororities at my school (A Phi, AGD, and Phi Sig) and I went to AGD and A Phi's pref - the AGD pref just seemed like every other party I went to though, all they did was ask me the same questions they had been all week. But the Alpha Phi's did a really nice ceremony and had some people speak, including an alumna who cried! During the ceremony you could feel the emotion felt between the sisters, and it touched me. In fact, during my time putting ON pref, I have seen PNM's cry as well...although who is to say it wasn't an act to gain favor from sisters. Anyway, after the ceremony/speeches, we sat down with our Pref-ers and drank Martinelli's out of plastic champagne glasses and ate a fruit pie of some sort. It was all very elegant and classy - I was sooo impressed! Plus, the girl who preffed me asked me real questions about my life instead of the same "whats your major" and she turned out to become my big sis....but anyway I think Pref is the best experience out of the whole rush process. to me, sometimes the pref ceremony can be more meaningful than initiation, because of the different speeches sisters make about their love for Alpha Phi.

Ahhh I can't wait for rush!!!!!!!

Thumbs up RUSH woo hoo

I really can't wait for rush either! I love meeting the new girls and getting to know them! I have a good experience with Pref. as well. (AlphaPhiBubbles, what is yer real name? ) The girls didnt' ask me the same old questions either and I felt really comfortable with them. I have never had a sister before and to be touched by so many people right away and feel part of the great group of girls, I felt honoured just being there. A-Phi rulez!

aoe,
