what does "deuteron" mean?

I can't believe I have been an active sorority girl for 2 years and do not know this, but what does it mean when a GLO chapter name has "deuteron" in it? I know this is not a greek letter, and it doesn't seem like a duplicate or something. Does this denote a colony or something?? I know someone on here knows the answer!
