Maybe it is time to sit down and talk to everyone.
Our VP Membership made out committees, so you were designated to help on at least one night. There was a first day committee, philanthropy day, skit day, pref night, and bid day committee.
She'd put 1 or 2 people in charge of each committee(who she knew she could trust - like for eaxmpled VP New Member Ed was in charge of Bid Day). Then she'd put a few people under them. That way, when say skit night rolls around, you can be focused on your duties - and the committee leaders can worry about getting everything set up and getting their group to help.
I would just talk to everyone if you have any meetings and tell them this is very stressful for you. You love your position and are excited about recruitment, but it isn't a one man show. Just like the chapter chooses who is their new sister, the chapter needs to put forth the effort in getting them there.
As far as the PX thing goes, I would talk to them all personally and tell them you are sorry if any hostility has come up. Just say you are looking out for the PX's and the new members - and you want DG to win recruitment awards. New members are smart enough to figure out if Rho Chis are sitting with a certain group of letters, one can guess what sorority she is in.
