Rings
Anyone else have silver Pi Phi rings in their chapters? I don't want to say much more about it b/c they're not meant to be too noticeable, but WE know what they mean.
Just wondering. Our PC2001 was the first pledge class to get them as part of initiation.

I rarely take it off, too. Even when I'm sleeping or showering there's that little ring on my right hand.

Maybe it's just cause I'm relatively new to Pi Phi, but no one in my chapter has a ring of any sort....at least that I know of. Can anyone clue me in as to what they're for?

My chapter (Kentucky Gamma) has the rings you are talking about, we call them Halo rings and have our roll number engraved in them. That silver band on my right hand means the world to me, I never take it off

Hi could someone email me about these rings. We dont have the rings but it sounds like a great tradition. We only have the Lavaliers with our letters to give our new pledges.
Please let me know...sounds like something neat to introduce to the Aransas Beta's!

I admit, I'm intrigued!
Would love a PM from any of the chapters who do this...I always love hearing about chapter traditions like this.

rings
I guess the reason no one is posting info is cause usually its not something you would be posting on our forum, just like for example, what happens during intiation.... I think if you were really interested in adpating to them to your house the best step would be to look at which chpaters have them, find their website on the pi phi website and email their pres. Unfortunatley im not much of a help since im in germany right now...
One thing though, if you are thinking on adapting: Our ring tradition is kind of older and i think thats why we use gold rings, but a lot of girls wish we had silver because it matches more jewlery now a days. But not many take it off cause of a jewlery missmatch because the meaning is whats important, not the type of ring it is. Also i as i was reading this, i thought the idea wiht having your number engraved on the inside was very cool! Just things to consider....

I don't think anyone I asking it to be posted in the forum. We understand that it's a secret tradition, but if any chapter wants to PM someone, I think that's fine. If not, that's cool. In no way was I or anyone else for that matter asking for the information to be posted in a public forum.

Just FYI-- there is no international 'tradition' or official use of any type of ring. Whether gold, or silver, arrow or band... it is LOCAL. Therefore, you have much more leeway. Whatever you DO do with rings cannot be part of the official initiation... that cannot be modified or changed in any way from the book (and if you don't know what book I'm talking about, PM me)
