O.K. I did it!
I got bangs.
I know, I know...many of you have said not to.
But you have to understand, I have had long
straight/wavyish hair MY ENTIRE LIFE!
My forehead is not huge, but it's big enough.
More than that, I really don't love my hairline.
So, I decided to just do it.
And, I haven't cried...so that should say something.
The hairdresser liked them.
So, we'll have to see what the man says and what
the family says.
Either way, they'll grow back.
So, I'm not worried about it...now.

I have bangs too! If you style them right, they look fine...which means washing your hair everyday and blowdrying them...airdryed bangs look really crappy.

I'm just the opposite; this is the first time in my life when I HAVEN'T had bangs!
Shopgirl, how is the rest of your hair styled? Is it long, short, layered, whatever?

As long as you don't wear them teased and hairsprayed sky high, those bangs will look awesome. Don't worry.

It's kind of long, to the middle of my back. I had layers put in two weeks ago. That was something new too.
My bangs aren't thick and they are angled to the side.

I knew when I read the title of this thread that you had cut your hair! I wish I could wear bangs. My hair is naturally wavy, and the shorter it's cut, the more it curls up. So instead of long, wispy bangs ... well, picture The Beatles in the early days.

Well, thank you very much!
Just for clarification...the length of my hair is
above the middle of my back. So, it's not
THAT long, but it's long.
I really like it.
Man, if only you guys knew what a
big step this has been for me.
But it felt so right.
I could kick myself for not doing it
sooner...that and highlights.
I was always afraid to do it, but
it was exactly what I needed.
A change has done me good...so far!

bangs are a good thing....but never ever ever let them cut them too short. i had a tight cut about seven weeks ago and it is now growing out to be fine.
bangs work though.

Good for you! I'm usually one of those,"DON'T CUT BANGS" people, but then, it's a style that can really soften a face. Not everyone can go without bangs. My stylist cuts mine very light and kind of uneven, then they taper down into the rest of the length. Length?-They are in my eyes when wet.

Congratulations! I'm glad you like it. I really wish I looked cute with bangs but I realized a long time ago they make my cheeks look enormous.
