Angry summer insanity

We are NEVER letting anyone stay at the chapter house over the summer again, I don't care how much we need the money. Ever happened to you? The house is only 1/3 full, and the guys there have apparently spent WAY too much time together, because they're at each others' throats over every little thing. It's going to turn into Lord of the Flies any second now. Makes me glad I'm 200 miles away.

This has been an OD summer moment.

Try having a small house - this happens every summer, woohoo.

Oh I'm never subletting my room EVER again! I let one of my "sisters" stay in my room for the summer on a verbal contract of payment (she's my sorority sister, i'm supposed to be able to trust her!) and guess who bolted w/out a word (or intention) of paying me?! Never again!

If you are going to rent rooms in the summer I would NEVER sublet - have the housing corp or landlord take care of it. Our landlord was usually happy to do it since it was extra income for him and the house was less likely to get broken into or whatever if people were there.

The best summer of my life was going to summer school and living in the house. There were only 5 of us there not counting the townie sis who stayed over all the time, so it was a blast.

When I was a collegiate at West Georgia, I lived in the beautiful UGA AGD house one summer. There were only 8 of us and the house mother!

At West Ga., we have the sorority dorm which the sorority members can't live in during the summer. But I think the school does let visiting groups stay there. Luckily, all of the sorority stuff is packed up.

Our house closes up over the summer -- I think all the sorority houses here do (with the exception of the house moms). Meanwhile, all the fraternity houses are still open, and most of them are nowhere close to full. I can't imagine the drama that goes on at some of those places.

I'm pretty sure that none of the sorority houses are open for the summer, but the house moms either stay, or check into them from time to time, eveyr week or so. There's only some of the fraternities that are open to have people other than brothers stay there, but usually, it's only about 5-9 people per house. It's kind of nice though, because everyone staying on Greek Row really gets to know everyone else through the summer.
