Thumbs up ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA, DOING IT AGAIN!

When I go through threads and forums of the different organizations, I have found that topics are not as diverse and stimulating as the ones found in our forum. I know I may be
biased and all, but take a look for yourselves. When you enter our forum, you can find information regarding the sorority, but you can also find current issues that we face in our daily lives as well as becoming nostaligic for the days gone by. I just wanted to say how proud I am to be apart of this forum and apart of our sorority. It does my heart good to know that, in my opinion, we have one of the better forums out there. That even on the net...we are still trailblazing! There are many sorors, sisterfriends who post on a daily basis, and we have other GREEK SISTERS that pop in from time to time and want to add their $$.$$ cents and Greek Brothers who lend their support or come in to just say, "Hi".
(You know they all want to be apart of us)LOL.
Though we ALL may not agree from time to time, it's okay, that's life, that's what makes the world go 'round. Still, in my opinion WE STILL HAVE IT GOING ON! Soror Akatude... you are doing a fantastic job as moderator!
Peace Out!

Sorors we truly are blazing trails and though we sometimes DISAGREE we are always civil in our discussions. I am proud to be a part of the best....I love my AKA and I would be nothing in AKA without the helping hand of my sorors.

Skee Wee Ladies, Skee Wee!

Thumbs up

This board has definitely come a long way. Reading this board is a part of my daily online routine. Even though I don't post everyday, I feel like I know you all. We've had good moments and not so good moments, but oh what a wonderful sisterhood we have here. We are full of diversity. You can get current news events, entertainment, sorority information, sports, and sistagirl problems all on this board. Everyone is respectful and we agree to disagree and that alone makes the board more conducive to the learning process. Members are eager to help and sisterfriends take heed to the information given. Sisterfriends are also open to give advice and suggestions. Let's all work together to continue to make the Alpha Kappa Alpha board the best on Greek Chat....because anything else would be uncivilized.

Stay Positive and Sisterly

Exclamation

There are more than 2,500 posts in here! We've come a long way since last fall when I first registered. There were only two other sorors, no sisterfriends and less than a dozen threads.

Here we are again...

NOW WE ARE RACISTS?

I am really buggin' from that Greek Life forum. Once again, as INTELLIGENT, PROFESSIONAL WOMEN who happen to be of AFRICAN descent, we are only supposed to be limited to speaking about hazing, what's your nickname?, roll calling, what's your line name?, etc. Don't think so! That's what's wrong with the country today. Many do not want to discuss issues like this. It is always swept under the rug. I DO NOT expect someone who has not walked in OUR shoes to understand OUR experience(s).

But still, as WOMEN, AFRICAN AMERICAN and FOREMOST, ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA WOMEN... we are doing it AGAIN!

AKA2D, you are too funny. Soror, don't let the attention-seeking, ignorance of a few get the best of you. We know what the real deal is and they probably do, too. Unregistered users are always trying to create drama, and personally, I don't think they should be allowed. I'm willing to bet that if they were required to register, it would drastically cut down on the madness. This is ridiculous which is why I don't bother going into that area as much as I use to.

I thought that ignoring them would solve the problem, but that would have to be a collective effort. However, I am really proud of the way we handled the thread directed at us last week. The ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha displayed true grace. I thank you all for that.

Question

Soror,

I know in other forums of this callibor, in order to post, take part in a chat, whatever you have to REGISTER. Is that something that you or our administrator would have control over? Or is that a GREEKCHAT.COM issue? Whatever the case...someone needs to look into requiring anyone that wants to say ANYTHING should HAVE TO register,if not, See Ya! You know...

Red face

sorors now you know that person just wanted to cause drama, i was like Whoa!!! when i saw the heading about our forum. it would be nice if everyone had to register, i don't see why it is a problem. it allows folks to not have to take responsibility for their post, while a registered user might think twice before draging their own name thru the mud and others.

No, I have no control over that. Now I'm thinking. I can't think of any site I've posted on that allows visitors to post. I remember when things got out of hand at everythingblack.com, the administrator actually closed the site down for a few days. It was drastic, but necessary due to the foolishness. Folks just couldn't get along.
