LSU RUSH IS COMING UP SOON! Questions from a rookie.
Hi,
I am going to be a freshman at LSU this fall and I'm going through Rush. I was wondering if any of you could paint a picture for me so I could understand the sorority life at LSU..I have no clue as to what I should expect. I am a legacy, but am not sure if I'll be pledging that sorority, because.. like I said.. I don't know what the girls are like in that organization. I have so many questions running through my head, but haven't the time to write every one of them down.. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for your time. Really looking forward to hearing from some LSU girls! Thanks.
Amy

We've had a whole bunch of threads focused on LSU rush but the only 2 I can think of are "They're having a blast!" and "Justamom, how's LSU?" Try searching for those...they're very important...

Not as familiar with LSU rush (the threads posted by carnation are some of the best), but just wanted to say that your legacy org (KD) is very strong at LSU! Make sure you get your recs, and make sure your KD ones mention that you're a legacy!

Good luck! KD is a good sorority and from what I understand,
has many legacies. kddani gave you important advice-get those recs and make sure they know you are a legacy.
Did you get your application in? Have you received your booklet?
The booklet will tell you everything from cost to assesments and give examples of what to wear.
All the sororities have their strengths. I don't know who said it those two years ago, but an excellent point was made.
On a campus like LSU where the Greek system is so strong, all the houses are good.
Though you won't be able to really tell in a short amount of time,
some are more relaxed than others. Just ask a lot of questions.
There is a house suited for just about every personality! Have fun!

If you do a search on LSU* , this should yield fruit.
(You need the * in there, since LSU is just 3 characters long)
For those that want to know, here are some LSU threads.
Also, since LSU is just 3 characters long, if you search on LSU*
you will find some results.
Rush at LSU
Help! Nervous about LSU Rush
justamom-How's LSU?
There are definitely additional threads too, but I got lazy after 3!

hey amy. i'm most likely going through rush at LSU this fall, too. i'm going to be going in as a sophomore, but this is my first time rushing so i'm a rookie, too =) i've learned a lot on GC and a lot from girls i met last year on campus, so if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask. GC is full of people eager to assist

Good luck, Moxie! A young lady from my neighborhood went through LSU recruitment as a sophomore about 13 years ago and pledged Kappa! She is a KD legacy--I think she went to their pref as well as KKG. Enjoy yourself--it's an exciting time!!!

No. She attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now the University of Louisiana - Lafayette or UL- L. We affectionately call it "OO - LA - LA." She was initiated into the KD chapter there. It is also the chapter of our Lt. Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco.

Who is Ali Landry? Can't say I've heard of her. Is she in politics like Blanco and Mary Landrieu (who was a DG at LSU )?
edited to add-I know, I know, maybe this IS a "shameless plug"!

Ali Landry was Miss USA 1996 and she's done a lot of acting and television work since then- hosting various shows, modeling. She's also well known for being the Doritos girl and is a Frito Lay spokesperson

The Dorrito girl...in the laundro-mat! Now HER, I like! She looks too... sexy to be a Miss America!
I have a friend who looks like an older version of her.

Ali Landy is seriously gorgeous! I bet that she did not have to sweat as to whether she would get her first pick in rush?!
