They Should Have Wrote an Autobiography
With all the movie stars dying recently, I've been thinking a lot about autobiographies. Who do you wish had wrote an autobiography before they died? (Movie stars, historical figures- anyone who comes to mind is fine.)
I would have loved to read Judy Garland's autobiography. She had such highs and lows in her life, and I'd love to hear her take on them. I'm also somewhat fascinated by the MGM movie musical, and hearing from such a well known veteran of the Freed Unit would be fascinating.
I'd also love reading about Marion Davies' life from her mouth. Did she know she couldn't act? What was it like being the mistress of probably the most powerful man in America at that time, William Randolph Hearst? How did she feel about Citizen Kane?
For that matter, I'd also love an autobiography of Vivien Leigh, Humphrey Bogart, and Clark Gable. Oh, and who could forget Hitchcock's view of his own life? That would be fascinating.
