Being my second Convention, I thought this was truly an amazing Convention! Everything ran smoothly from every standpoint and everyone seemed to be having an awesome time. There wasn't the controversy I thought there would be and the new Grand Council will do an amazing job!

I am also happy about the pledge fee debate. While I understand both viewpoints, I think in time, it will be for the better for the Fraternity as a whole.

In summary, this Convention was great and it really made me feel so proud to be a member of this great Fraternity, Delta Sigma Phi. I am certain that we will continue to grow and prosper with the leadership we have at all levels of the Fraternity.

Hopefully I had the chance to meet you and if I didn't, I apologize but if you would like to contact me, my email, and AOL instant messenger name are below. Hope to keep in touch with all you brothers that look at this Forum and take care.

Two questions I pose for you as well is how do you like the new Headquarter staff and Grand Council? Secondly, what are you taking from Convention to better your Chapter?

Well, I sure had one of the best times of my life.

I am extremely happy with our new Grand Council. Hoffman spoke at RLA and I know he'll do a great job, as well as Jim, Stan and our new President. As far as the pledge fee went, I was at first against it, but when i realized that the money would go to receiving more help from National, I was completely in favor of and voted for it.

I learned a lot about myself as well, and I am taking back a lot of great stuff for rush, ritual/tradition, and overall operation.

The next couple years are gonna be great.

Covention/Yahoo group

I had an amazing time. It was awesome to meet with brothers from across the country, both undergrads and alums. Plus, being part of the elections and discussions was a neat experience.

I also set up a yahoo group for borthers from across the country to share ideas and post pics and stuff, if anyone wants to join it, here is the adress where you should send an email to join

I just got back from Chicago today. What an excellent convention. I think we could finally sense all three parts coming together again: undergrads, alumni, and National staff. I also think we have the right two men to continue bringing us all together--Scott Wiley and Chris Northern. Chris has worked in the trenches as a volunteer for a long time and his breadth of experience will be a good compliment to Scott's passion to improve the fraternity.

The general sense I got was "let's give them a chance." HQ and the GC know they will be held accountable for the promises made this week. They are certainly off to a good start and I, for one, am confident the convention in Austin in 2005 will be a celebration of the results of what was begun in Chicago.

It was great meeting so many brothers from around the country and I look forward to the continued free exchange of ideas until we meet again.
