Smile Positive Friday

At one point, I was a member of the message board at EverythingBlack.com until things got too obnoxious. There was one member who always began a weekly "Positive Friday" thread. It was the one bright spot in all the madness. So, what does everyone have planned for the weekend?

One of my aunts is hosting a family cookout tomorrow. Then, my fiance and I will stroll around downtown Charleston getting a glimpse of some Spoleto activities. I'll spend the usual three hours in church on Sunday. Then, on Monday afternoon I'm taking my "little sister" a water park.

Let us also remember the true meaning of the Memorial Day holiday. I read in Dear Abby this morning that at 3pm on Monday, everyone is asked to observe the day with a moment of silence and for drivers to turn on their headlights in rememberacne of those defending our constitution.

I hope everyone has a safe weekend. Take care and God bless.

If I ever get out of my dang-blasted office, I will be "gettin' my hair did,"; getting my boogie/disco on with my best friend/husband; volunteering my Saturday morning with other area sorors in a Buckle Up for Safety event; making the rounds at family/friend BBQs (and getting rained on!); going to church; attending a soror's wedding reception; and getting some SLEEP!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy your weekend, ladies!

Hello Soror's DG &AKATUDE,

This weekend I am going to read "The Bluest Eye," By Toni Morrison. I am going to attend my son's baseball game, take them to Carowinds, and take a little "me" time.

We will cook-out. My husband invited a few of his Frats over/retired officer. I just plan to enjoy life.

Have a great week-end! Stay safe

Hi all! I've had a blessed Friday, hope everyone else did as well. Deja --- I've read the Bluest Eye, you'll love it. This weekend, I'll be singing in the choir basically all Sunday, then going to a church cookout.

I know this is an old topic but I would like to tell everyone about my upcoming weekend (I know it's Thursday but I won't be able to post tomorrow because my baby is taking me on a weekend surprise getaway. I am sooooo excited (you can tell I don't travel much (LOL)). He's romantic so I know it will be special. I think he's taking me down to Hilton Head Island because he's been talking about going there lately.

AKAtude, or anyone else from Charleston or SC, have you ever been there. I'll talk with you all later.

(Let's keep this topic going every Friday (and I'm not just saying that because I'm excited about this weekend . Take care all.

Caramel,

I’ve been to Hilton Head and it is very nice. The town ordinances are set such that Hilton Head does not have the commercial feel like Myrtle Beach for example (No neon lights, Wings Beachwear, Restaurant Row, Main Strip/Drag, etc). Very relaxed laid back atmosphere. That is not to say they do not have places to shop, etc, there are outlets and such.

Be careful when planning dinner. We arrived late the first night and the only place open was Huddle House. Also watch out for all those folks that will try to get you to go to a time share presentation!

Have Fun!
