I went to the Michelle Branch/Dixie Chicks concert last night and am currently all about downloading Dixie Chicks songs on Kazaa. I allllways get that way after a great show! But, last night was fabulous. I was actually impressed with Michelle Branch: she's 19, just put out her second album, writes all of her own music and plays guitar. Plus, she doesn't have a perfectly toned body. I kept thinking, "why isn't she a role model for MORE girls out there? Why Britney Spears?" And of course, the Dixie Chicks just blew the place up. They are great performers, the set was amazing and the playlist was fantastic- all of their best songs (except for You Were Mine) and it was fun that it was in DC. Natalie was like "Washington DC, huh? Hmmmm.... if I'm NOT mistaken, the President of the United States lives here, right?" And she kept mentioning stuff about how they're so hated now. The tour is called "Top Of The World" but after the "incident" they wanted to rename it "The Bottom of the Barrel" tour.
I saw Tim McGraw last month in LA and he was incredible. Probably the best concert I've ever been to. I didn't sit down once and Tim was just amazing. And gorgeous, too. Great great show- two and a half hours also! Oh, and Faith made a special surprise appearance on one song! Very cool.
I am seeing Sheryl Crow on Monday and still really want to see the Roc the Mic tour on July 6th: Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Missy Elliot, Snoop Dogg, Fabolous, Sean Paul and Busta Rhymes. I'm seeing Bon Jovi and Goo Goo Dolls on July 27 and American Idols Live on July 28th with my visiting roommate. And I'm flying to Ohio to visit my best friend in early August and we're seeing Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera. I'm excited.
So, what concerts are you guys seeing this summer? Have you seen any already? How were they? Who's a great performer and who isn't worth your money? (ie: my mom saw Norah Jones and looooves her, but said the concert was pretty mediocre- you could tell she wasn't used to performing in big venues)
