GPA Calculator

Does anyone know of that spiffy site where you can use the GPA calculator to figure out what GPA you need this semester in order to have a 3.0/3.4 etc cumulative adjetive? We have a guy who can't come out this semester because of grades, so we want to know just how much of a GPA boost he's going to need before he can join up.

GPA Calculators

Has anyone used both of these and can comment on which one is better? The one at berkley.edu seems relatively basic but straightforward. However, the one at the usnews.com website is only accessible via a paid subscription to that new site I think?
Has anyone used it and can comment on how good it is?

Thanks!

edited to add: I checked. The subscription is $9.95

Hi there,

I am an admissions evaluator at a California State University and that is what I do all day long. It's kind of complicated to explain but part of what it's going to take to raise the GPA is going to depend on how many units he has completed. For instance if he's a freshman and screwed up his first semester it won't take much to raise his GPA but if he has 100 plus units it's going to take way to many classes with A's to raise his GPA a lot.

It also depends on how low his GPA is now. For instance if he's only a few points away from where he needs to be then its not too bad. Otherwise he really needs to see an advisor.

You may also be able to get the calculator on your school's website - I know the Boston University student section had one (but it's only accessible to students).
