increasing bonds of a pledge class
If its not private or hush hush what kind of events does your fraternity do to increase the bonds of a pledge class?

During our pledging process, the pledge class is required to do certain things. Included in this include completing a pledge class philanthropy, house improvement project, do a 'campout', doing a fundraiser, plan the annual "Bowery Brawl" taking part in a 1920s speakeasy (complete with butcher-papered walls and sawdust on the floor), and walkout-sneak from formal dinnergoing to a chapter at a different school, learning basic facts about that chapter, and returning by midnight without being 'caught' by the Actives.
Our pledge class of 13 judged a high school debate tournament in a local town for our philanthropy, cleaned a old burnt-out house and sold souviner decanturs and scotch glasses during Bowery for our fundraiser, installed a wireless internet system in the house as our improvement project, and had our campout at a pledgebrothers house. All of these events helped build loyalty between our pledge class, though I would recommend for a house improvement project making it where the pledges can work more as a group, instead of everyone raising funds for it and then 2 people installing it like ours was.

My pledge class had to do a philanthropy, a fundraiser, a skit illustrating our chapter or fraternity history, a group sleepover (which we have a special name for), plan an event for the sisterhood, and create something to give as a gift to the chapter following our initation.
And no, we didn't have a pillowfight in lingerie at the sleepover.

You sound like you had a fun pledge period. Mine sucked and was so boring. My class wasn't that close except for one other girl because we were friends in high school and rushed together. There were only 4 of us so you'd think that our class would be close. I get so jealous seeing all the other Phi classes really close.
We did a clothing drive as our philanthropy which wasn't very successful. And we had a bunch of boring sisterhood events which not a lot of people ever came to. Our chapter is bigger and better and closer now so it's not a problem anymore.

We had a pledge retreat in which we did pledge nicknames, and other fun stuff like decorating waterbottles and arrows (big cardboard arrows that had stuff all about ourselves on them!). We also had weekly pledge meetings and sisterhood events to help us bond with the chapter. One big thing we do is "Yack N Snack". Basically each room in the house sets out food and the pledges come from room to room eating and talking their way through the house. The girls who live out tend to set up shop in the formal room and it's so much fun!
My pledge class wasn't as close as the other pledge classes but we've gotten better since Freshman year.

Wow, our pledge class did some fun stuff for pledge bonding. Every Thursday night we went to the house as a group and watched Friends and whatever other shows were on. We decided to play a trick on the sisters for initiation (nothing bad, it embarassed up more than them but it was a GREAT time). We also did a few group breakfasts and lunches when everyone could meet up. It was a lot of fun because it didn't seem very stressful

I was part of a pledge class of two...and the two of us are close...we had to do a sisterhood event and that meant we spent a full wekeend together working on it and getting to together and then the event, making paddles was also a full day project, we met up before some parties and went together, and a bunch of other little things...also alot to time spent with each other on the phone!

Our pledges usually move in the thursday before classes start, and the very first saturday night we have them go camping together with their pledge ed. Some of the actives will go out for a little while but have to leave before 11.
Our pledges also sell out our back parking lot on Football saturdays to earn money for their pledge class funds. Usually it's the same people over and over who take part and those guys will usually become closer...
The pledge class has to plan three sneaks (two mini and one big). The two mini ones are 'escapes' on mondays during first semester and the pledge class goes somewhere for the night together. the big sneak is a trip to another chapter, taking along actives to fill out the bus.
the past two years the pledge class has done a low ropes course.
they also are supposed to do a majority of the work on our Homecoming lawn display, as well as guard it through the nights so no one sabotages it.
Then there is a bunch of stuff during I-week that I'm not at liberty to divulge.
