How Resourceful are YOU?

Last week I was in a show and I had on gloppy red lipstick as part of the make-up. Well, part of the costume was a white shirt, and about 15 minutes before I went on I raised my right arm to see if I was sweating and of course mashed my gloppy-red-lipsticked-bottom lip onto the pristine white-ness of my shirt. I had a nice red smudge below my shoulder and I was freaking out because I had to go out to perform...so after 5 minutes of going crazy (now 10 minutes to show time) I took off my shirt and planted a kiss on the shirt, lining up my bottom lip to make it look right. Since I have fairly large lips, it actually looked okay! I was proud

Anyone else ever end up in a pinch like this one? As in- have you ever had to staple up the hem of your skirt at work because you had 5 minutes to an important meeting? Or had to wrap elastics under the cuffs of a jacket with too-long sleeves?

When I was on Homecoming Court last year, I was backstage at the coronation ceremony tying my dress shoes when my shoelace broke.

I couldn't go onstage with no shoelace...so with only 10 mins until I was to be onstage I took out my shoelace completely, tied the 2 broken pieces together, relaced my shoe, and pushed the knot under the tounge of the shoe.

It was uncomfortable with that knot digging into my foot, but it beat embarrassment.

I was walking to a meeting and the elastic on the top of one of my thigh highs basically died. I didn't have time to go and buy a new pair and I couldn't walk into the meeting barelegged or with the top of my thigh high down around my ankle. So I got a gumband from my assistant, went to the ladies room and slid the gumband around my thigh. It wasn't comfortable, but it got me through the meeting.
