Badges, Pins, Nationals, and stuff?

Does anyone know who we talk to at Nationals in order to get our Badges and anything else that should be sent to us. I was Initiated earlier this year and have been told that I am supposed to get a pin and a card of some kind. However, there are a number of guys from our chapter who haven't received anything and they were initiated about two years ago. I don't know about anyone else, because our oldest member just graduated, but he had one, he was here for almost 5 years... Is there anything else that we should be receiving that I should be aware of??? Harrison.

Harison, it goes back to your House Corp Post.

If you owe Internationsl money, they wont send you anything!!

They do not give you anything! If you are paid up, then you can add to New Assoc. fees for those to get a new cheapy Badge for @ $10.00. That has to be ordered by a member who does this.

If you want to buy a Special Badge, you can go to the LXA Site and order what you want.

I have bought many off of ebay for guys in my Zeta who might want them at my cost, which is cheaper than International. Ha, no takers!

You may PM me to see what I have!

There are two things here...

First, make sure that the initiation fees and paperwork were completed. This includes the 600C (which indicates that the Ritual was actually completed; the 600B is a Request for Initiation; the 600C is a Report of Initiation). Along those lines, when sending a check to the HQ, clearly indicate either on the check or with a note, what the check is being used for (Initiation vs. Association Fees vs. Membership Dues). Also, keep copies of everything that you send for the Chapter's historical file.

Secondly, Tom is correct regarding the badges. However, every initiated member should receive a membership card and a certificate. Of course, this assumes that the proper paperwork and fees have been taken care of.

I would recommend reaching out to your Gamma & Tau and work with Membership Records to get this resolved.

Eric

I agree with Brothere Bergers advice, however I'd liek to add that even when that stuff is done, it still takes them forever to get you membership cards and certificates. I have seen it take as long as a full year, and as short as 2 months. THe cards are produced there in house, but the certs come from a place in South Carolina. So if you raise enough hell, you might be able to at least get your membership cards asap.

Based on the E Mails from Mr Harrison, It seems that the Chapter at Marshall is n a world of hurt. Best of luck to you there in the world of West Virginia!

Have to agree with you there. In reference to this AND the housing corp post, there appears to be serious problems with your chapter. Problems that need to be addressed as a TEAM, with a positive-outcome approach, and, it will take some hard work to turn it around.

I know what I speak of. What you are describing happened to Northern Colorado in 1988 - they were closed in 1989.

Are you on the HZ of the chapter? I would recommend you get a HZ meeting, even if over the phone, done asap, with everyone being honest as to what is wrong with the chapter (as compared to your obligations and oaths from ritual, in regards to chapter/fraternal operations). Put together a document, signed by the HZ, and present it to the Housing Corp and Alumni Association (if you don't have an AA, the Housing Corp might have to pull double duty - and will do so if they are convinced you are SINCERE in changing your ways), that outlines an action plan to get the chapter turned around. Another good starting point is to look at the last consultant's visit evaluation form - anything listed there better be addressed.

Simply put, the chapter needs to confess it's faults, and sincerely try to mend it's ways today, not tomorrow. I hope you have the leadership and desire in your chapter to make it happen - we didn't at UNC in 1988...

tks, for the advice and yes Lenox we are in a world of hurt, but you won't get 98% of us to acknowledge it. The sad thing is, our campus only has about 1.5% greeks. Marshall tends to give instate residents the benefit of the doubt by allowing very low scores to enter the system, and then they tend to drop out of school because they can't cope with the Higher Educational Standard. Very Very low retention rate here at Marshall and this tends to reflect on chapter membership. Harrison

Thumbs up

Harrison, I am sure many of us would like to get more info about your situation if you will!

We are Brothers here and I am sure you will see many Alums here that would be willing to give any advice if more is known!

What do we as LXA Stand for? You must make your grades to not only Associate but to stay a Active in good standing.

While (PUKE) it is Hazing (REPUKE) if you have some of these retention spanned individuals, what is one of the Charges of LXA? Help Thy Brother to study and make grades!

Does any other Fraternity Help New "Pledges" do that?

The idea really is to go to College to Graduate and Better yourself in the Future Life!

ordering is easy

If you want to order badges, or anything you see on the Lambdachi.org website all you have to do is call. You will get the secretary. Her name is Tina, if you are nice to her she will be nice to you. We had our badges within the week. The regular gold ones are nine dollars.
